Do not be alarmed if you hear radio traffic about a building fire and/or maydays this morning, the department is conducting Combined Ops training.

Combined Ops training allows our firefighters to practice their skills in our “burn building” and it also incorporates our fire alarm operators so that everyone is prepared in real-life scenarios.

Folks, please do not call 911 to check and see if burning is allowed. That is not something to tie up a 911 EMERGENCY line for.

How to find out if you’re allowed to burn:
1. State of NH website, forest and lands section
2. If you have a valid permit, you will receive an email and/or text message on NO BURN days
3. You can call the fire station directly on the NON-EMERGENCY line to inquire the status of burning.

Again, please do not call 911 to check status of outdoor burning.

Unlike this polar bear, we want to see everyone stay upright and all 4 wheels on pavement over the next 12-24 hours!

All joking aside, travel conditions are likely to be extremely treacherous tonight and tomorrow morning. Please please please, if you do not need to travel from 7pm tonight through tomorrow morning’s commute, don’t. Take advantage of staying home and staying safe!

It has been quite the morning for our department!

Since just after 5am this morning we have dispatched 7 calls amongst the 3 towns we serve. This includes a very serious medical call, multiple other medical calls, as well as a serious accident on the interstate. We are just taking this brief moment of calmness to acknowledge how hard ALL of our members work to serve the residents of Londonderry, Pelham, and Hampstead.

We also would like to thank Litchfield Fire Department for providing an Engine for station coverage during the chaos!
