⚠️ COMMUNITY NOTICE — SMOKE & ASH EXPECTED ⚠️

We want to make our community aware of a large wildfire currently burning in Texas, affecting approximately 60,000 acres.

With winds currently coming out of the south at 17-25mph, heavy smoke and ash from the fire has moved into our area. Residents may notice hazy skies, a strong smell of smoke, reduced visibility, and falling ash.

Please use caution while outdoors and while driving. Those who are sensitive to smoke should consider limiting time outside and keeping windows and doors closed when possible.

At this time, the smoke and ash in our area are associated with the Texas wildfire and do not necessarily indicate a local fire.

We will continue to share updates as conditions change.

UPDATE:

Water crew is reporting they have just fixed the issue and should be turning everything back on soon.

Please use caution when using your water lines until you see there is no debris in the line and the color clears up.

Repairs require opening lines and moving lines around. Our lines have been in the ground for years and movement will and does knock debris loose and requires flushing of lines. Once the repairs are complete crews will flush the lines that need it.

Public Notice:

The Water Department has found there is an issue with a water line or lines in the area of Church Street and Spruce Street. The crews have put out barricades in the area this afternoon and will start work in that area Wednesday morning early. Please be aware there maybe periods that portions of the City will be with out water as they attempt to make repairs.

As always we ask that you take precautions when using household appliances because when lines are opened dirt can filter in as the repairs are made. Clear your lines before washing whites to insurance they are ok.

We would like all that would to please share our post tonight as our crews begin their daily shifts at 6 a.m. and we want the public to be prepared should there be a need to cut the water supply to the area for the repair.
