🥾 Help Ardmore firefighters FILL THE BOOT for MDA!

This Labor Day weekend, Ardmore firefighters will be collecting donations at the intersection of Commerce Street and Broadway Avenue to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

📅 Saturday, Sept. 5 | 4–6 p.m.
📅 Sunday, Sept. 6 | Noon–2 p.m.
📅 Monday, Sept. 7 | 4–6 p.m.

Every donation—big or small—helps MDA support families, fund groundbreaking research and build a stronger future for people living with muscular dystrophy and related neuromuscular diseases.

Watch for our firefighters, help us fill those boots and show what the Ardmore community can do when we come together! ❤️

A localized fire weather threat exists today across portions of far southeast Oklahoma due to dry fuels and high winds. Heed existing burn bans in this area and notify authorities immediately of any accidental fire starts or if smoke is visible. One spark is all it takes.

• Avoid any activities that could spark a fire
• Check any recent outdoor burns to ensure they are fully extinguished
• Make sure trailer chains are not dragging
• Avoid driving off-road or parking in grassy areas
• Delay outdoor welding or grinding until conditions improve

🚨 NEED A SMOKE ALARM? AFD CAN HELP.

The Ardmore Fire Department is helping protect local homes by providing and installing smoke alarms at no cost for residents who need them.

Here’s how to get started:

📝 Visit Ardmore Fire Station No. 1 and complete a short request form.

📅 An Ardmore firefighter will contact you to schedule a convenient time for installation.

🚒 Firefighters will bring the smoke alarms to your home and install them for you.

All smoke alarms provided through this program are installed by AFD firefighters and are not available for pickup.

❤️ A special thank-you to the American Red Cross of Oklahoma for providing the smoke alarms and helping us make Ardmore homes safer!
