As we head into severe weather season, here’s a reminder of local shelter locations in our community.

🚨 Storm Shelter Information for the Lone Jack Community 🚨

During severe weather, the following locations are available for those needing shelter:

🏫 Lone Jack High School
A storm shelter is available on the southeast corner of the building, next to the main entrance. A sign on the building indicates the location of the storm shelter.

⛪ Lone Jack Baptist Church
The church also opens during severe weather events. Please enter through the door under the awning on the north side of the building.

Please share this information so everyone in our community knows where they can go if they need a safe place during storms. Stay safe, Lone Jack! 🌧️🌪️

November 11, 2025
Earlier today, the Lone Jack Police Department responded to a report of a possible threat made by a student at Lone Jack High School. Working closely with school officials, officers quickly investigated the situation.
It was determined that a juvenile student made verbal threats referencing potential violence at the school. At no time was a firearm brought onto school property, and there is no evidence the student possessed a weapon.
The student has been identified, and appropriate actions are being taken according to juvenile procedures and school district policy. There is no ongoing threat to students, staff, or the community.
We take all threats to our schools seriously and will continue to work with the Lone Jack School District to keep our schools safe. Please report any concerns or suspicious behavior to school officials or the Lone Jack Police Department immediately.
