🚴‍♂️ E-Bike Safety Reminder 🚴‍♀️
Electric bicycles (e-bikes) are a fun and efficient way to get around our community—but safety always comes first.

Know the rules for Class 3 E-Bikes:
A Class 3 e-bike is equipped with a motor that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling and stops assisting once the bike reaches 28 mph.

⚠️ Important:
Class 3 e-bikes may only be operated by individuals age 16 or older.

Safety Tips for All Riders:
✔️ Always wear a helmet
✔️ Follow all traffic laws and signals
✔️ Ride in the same direction as traffic
✔️ Stay visible—use lights and reflective gear
✔️ Be aware of pedestrians and share the road responsibly

Parents—please make sure your children are riding age-appropriate e-bikes and understand the rules of the road.

These items were found abandoned at JA Jackson Park this afternoon. The kids sandals are size 11-12 and were left on a bench at the playground. The waterbottle was left on a picnic table. They'll be at the PD.

We have had a several people call tonight that have heard gun shots. The gun shots are coming from the Sportsman’s Club in Lotawana. They are having an event this evening. It should be done by 10pm.

As we head into severe weather season, here’s a reminder of local shelter locations in our community.

🚨 Storm Shelter Information for the Lone Jack Community 🚨

During severe weather, the following locations are available for those needing shelter:

🏫 Lone Jack High School
A storm shelter is available on the southeast corner of the building, next to the main entrance. A sign on the building indicates the location of the storm shelter.

⛪ Lone Jack Baptist Church
The church also opens during severe weather events. Please enter through the door under the awning on the north side of the building.

Update: Izzy is home safe!!

We have been contacted regarding a missing dog in the area of Bynum Rd and Lone Jack Lee’s Summit. The dog is approximately 35lbs, black with white on the chest and a pink collar. Collar does have a tag with owners info. Dogs name is Izzy. If you see her please contact the PD. Thank you!

We've had several questions in regards to the loud explosion last night. We responded to a call around the north city limits and no damage was observed nor has any been reported in our immediate area.
