“Oh, you’re from Iowa?”
People usually say it with a smirk, picturing nothing but endless cornfields stretching to the horizon and gravel roads disappearing into the fog. And to be fair, that part isn’t wrong. Iowa mornings often begin with the hum of tractors, the scent of fresh earth, and golden fields swaying under wide Midwestern skies.
But that’s only half the story.
“No, I’m from Iowa.”
The Iowa where autumn paints the cliffs in fiery shades at Maquoketa Caves State Park.
The Iowa where the rolling ridges of the Loess Hills glow under breathtaking sunsets.
The Iowa where you can stand above the Mississippi River at Pikes Peak State Park and watch the world slow down for a moment.
It’s quiet. It’s simple. It’s beautiful in ways you don’t expect.
Because Iowa isn’t just a place you drive through—
it’s a place you discover. 🌽✨
