Juneteenth - More than a celebration.

Juneteenth marks our country’s second independence day. The historical legacy of Juneteenth shows the value of never giving up hope in uncertain times. And the strength of the Black community.

“Freedom delayed is freedom denied.”
May Juneteenth remind us all to celebrate progress but also to confront the truths about our nation’s history and the work that remains.

We are holding Executive Board Elections at our July 28, 2026 General Membership Meeting.The Nominating Committee is currently accepting applications from members interested in serving as an officer for the 2026–2027 term.

The positions are as follows:
- President
- Vice President
- Membership Secretary
- Recording Secretary
- Communications Secretary
- Treasurer

Members seeking nomination should submit:
A letter of interest identifying the position sought
A current résumé or CV

Materials must be submitted no later than June 30, 2026, to:
Nigel Lifsey, Nominating Committee Chair at [email protected].

Additional information regarding officer positions, eligibility requirements, and election procedures will be shared at our June 23 General Membership Meeting.

The Nominating Committee will review all submissions and provide its recommendations to the membership in advance of the July 28 election.
