This week, Mayor Tim Pierce would like to recognize and thank the dedicated employees of the Long Beach Mississippi Fire Department, Long Beach Police Department - MS, Dispatch, Public Works, and Parks & Recreation for their outstanding efforts during the recent heavy rain events.

Their hard work, long hours, and commitment to serving our community helped keep residents safe and city operations running during challenging weather conditions. We are grateful for all they do behind the scenes and on the front lines.

As a reminder, hurricane season officially began on June 1. Now is the time to prepare by reviewing your emergency plans, gathering supplies, and knowing your evacuation route before a storm threatens our area.

Thank you to our city employees for their service, and thank you to our residents for staying weather-aware and prepared.
