Got a house project scheduled?
📢 Be sure to contact 811 if you plan to dig or excavate in your yard. Utility lines need to be marked for projects such as installing a mailbox, creating a garden, putting up a fence, or building a new patio. Hitting an underground utility without calling 811 first can disrupt critical services to your home and/or the neighborhood. Here's how 811 works 👇
☎️ 🖥️ It’s as easy as calling 811 or going online to www.811beforeyoudig.com at least [Insert notification period] before digging to request a ticket.
📍 A representative from your local 811 center will be notified when you call or go online to submit your ticket that describes the location and details of your intended dig site.
📥 The affected utility companies will be notified of the intent to dig.
🏳️ Your local utility companies mark the approximate location of any buried lines in your yard so that you don’t risk injuring yourself or disrupting utility service to the neighborhood.
✅ Once lines have been marked, you should respect the marks and dig carefully around them.
