What an amazing summer! Our youth had a blast playing, learning, socializing, and making new friends—and our families joined in on the fun, too!

🏡The Clean Team, Conservation Corps & volunteers picked up a total of 5.42 tons covering the two neighborhood boundaries on Saturday, that’s 10,840 pounds of dumped items and litter out of our streets and alleyways. About the weight of two adult elephants🐘🐘 —and an incredible impact for our community!

City Budget for 2027

Resilience, fiscal responsibility, equity and quality of life guide every decision we make.

It is budget season, and this year required difficult choices. Because Long Beach planned ahead, built strong partnerships and secured new resources, we can better protect essential services, preserve critical jobs and continue investing in our future.

My FY 27 Budget Recommendations maintain our focus on public safety hiring with funding for Police Academy Class 101, preserve critical public health services despite an uncertain federal funding landscape, advance mobility, and invest in our neighborhoods.

Thank you to City Manager Tom Modica and City staff for approaching this process with care, transparency and a commitment to minimizing impacts.
