We support community/feral cat spay and neuter on the Long Beach Peninsula and extend humane education to local and visiting kids. Coaching is availabl

We have so many big dogs right now. And, let’s just be honest, they can put away some food!

If you are a Costco shopper, Enzo, Walter, Bernie, and all their big dog friends couldn’t thank you enough for a bag or two. 💕💕

Your next race should come with an ocean view. 🌊

The Pacific Coast Running Festival is your excuse to turn race weekend into a full-on racecation on the Long Beach Peninsula, Washington.

Run the Half Marathon, then spend the rest of the weekend exploring the coast. Bring the family. Walk the beach. Check out Long Beach. Eat somewhere local. Stay an extra night.

Because sometimes the best race weekends are about everything that happens before and after the finish line.

When your human says DOG‑O‑RAMA is still 16 days away… so you start digging a shortcut to Long Beach. 😂🐕

We admire the enthusiasm, but we’re pretty sure this route is going to take a while.

What do you think this dog is really looking for—buried treasure, a missing treat or an early entrance to DOG‑O‑RAMA? ⛏🕳🐾

🌈🐾 September is National Pet Memorial Month 🐾🌈

The love we share with our pets never truly ends. They leave paw prints on our hearts that last a lifetime. ❤️

This month, we honor the companions who brought us unconditional love, endless joy, and unforgettable memories. Whether they were with us for years or only a short time, they will always be part of our story.

We'd love to celebrate their lives with you. Share a photo and tell us about a beloved pet you've loved and lost in the comments. We'd be honored to remember them with our SPCHS community.

🐶🐱 Every story reminds us why our mission matters, to help more animals find loving homes and the families who will cherish them forever.

The Prettiest Blossom of a Cat: Meet Sweet Pea!

Every cat has their unique charms, and it isn’t hard to guess which ones I have. My name is Sweet Pea, and the first time you lay eyes on me, my soft beauty will take your breath away: my powder-blue eyes, my remarkable tabby stripes, and this cute pink nose! Not to mention, these perfectly round little cheeks! You won’t be able to take your eyes off me!

I'm an 11-year-old senior girl, but you wouldn’t be able to guess it. I've got energy aplenty for begging for attention and purring like a motorboat! I would thrive in a quiet home where I can soak up all the love from my favorite humans. I have diabetes, which has been managed wonderfully with treatment, and need a family that can help me with a daily insulin shot and weekly blood sugar testing.

Could I be the perfect companion for you? I've been waiting a long time to find a forever home… don’t make me wait any longer! Reach out and schedule a meet-and-greet!

Juniper: The Best Lap Buddy You’ll Ever Meet!

Ever meet a dog that would permanently adhere themselves into your arms, if they only had thumbs to work the superglue? That’s me, Juniper, and in all the best ways!

I’m a 3-year-old Short Coat Chihuahua Mix, and there is nothing I want more than to be with my people. I’m a petite little 17 pounds, making me the perfect weight to settle on your lap as we relax together. I take a bit of time to get settled in a new place, but once I’ve warmed up to my new home, I’ll follow you wherever you go. I love to talk, so my ideal home won’t mind my sassy commentary at every peculiarity!

I get along wonderfully with other small dogs and have lived with a cat in the past, but I’d be just as happy as a spoiled only child. I take time to feel comfortable around new people, so a home without constant comings and goings of new faces would make me happiest. Above all though, I just need to be near my people!
If you’re looking for a constant, loyal, and loving companion to fill your days with love and joy, I bet I’m exactly what you need. Call or go to our website to apply!
