The following policy shall apply to all social media platforms/pages operated by the City of Long Branch Police Department:
Page Information:
1. Approval to start this site was granted by the City of Long Branch Mayor, Business Administrator and Director of Public Safety.
2. We recognize our responsibility to the public and strive to keep them informed and as up-to-date as possible regarding pub
lic safety issues. Content is updated frequently. Inappropriate content will be deleted and inaccurate content will be corrected when we find it to exist.
3. The administrators on this page are subject to constant updates to our Social Media Policies & Procedures. As a result, the page content, security settings, etc. may change accordingly.
4. Advertising for any private or personal events, products, pages or otherwise is strictly prohibited on this page. The administrators of this page are limited to sharing information from trusted, nationally or otherwise governmentally recognized Law Enforcement Agencies, Public Safety Organizations, Municipal and State Offices. In addition, we may share information from some local organizations and businesses, as well as the media.
5. It is our goal to provide the appropriate credit for use of shared information, photographs, graphics, etc. If the source is known, we will attach a credit. We, in no way, claim the rights or take the credit for any shared art or information if there is no credit note attached. Content that we share on this site may be limited in conformance with HIPAA, Civil and other privacy rights as well as in the case of active investigations.
2. We do not share photos of minors without parental consent. The exception to this would be in sharing another site’s/page’s photo whereas our page shares their link. Comments:
1. It is the goal of this page to maintain family friendly content. Please keep your comments courteous, positive and professional.
2. We encourage all to “like” and “share” our page and postings, but remind you to keep all comments appropriate for all age groups on our page as well as whenever a direct link is made to our page by sharing our content.
3. Most comments are hidden until approved by a page administrator. Any postings that evade the security settings and are deemed inappropriate by the administrators of this page will be deleted. Such postings include but are not limited to: any comments that contain or express vulgarity, hatred, bias, harassment, threats, advertisements, solicitations, personal information, and spam. Such comments could also evoke some or all of the following actions:
a) Reporting abuse of the user to the site host (Facebook). b) Blocking the user from all further comment or participation on our page. c) The generation of a police report, investigation and, if deemed criminal, prosecution of the user posting the comments.
4. Comments made in any language other than English will remain hidden or be deleted unless written in a format that can be used with "Google Translate".
5. Should you have a problem or wish to express negative feedback, please do so in a private message. Extending us this courtesy will ensure you a prompt and courteous response from our administrators in return.
6. Private messages and inquiries will be answered, in most cases, within 6-12 hours. Allow 24-48 hours for inquiries that require the administrators of this page to research the topic in order to accurately and appropriately reply.
