Last Friday was a bittersweet day. The 2026 Graduates came back to visit. It's so special to see their faces again, so sad to say goodbye, and so exciting about what's to come for them. Congratulations to the STARS of 2026 and the whole graduating class!

More Bingo Night Winners!!! Another HUGE thank you to the Long Grove and Eldridge Fire Departments. We can feel the community support! Can you imagine coming to school in a fire truck?! All the kids love seeing it, and it's wildly popular for Bingo Night.

Star also offered up her time for a lunch date. She gave her best effort at puppy dog eyes to see if one of the students would switch lunch with her, but they weren't taking the bait. 😉

Our 6th Graders had an amazing time during our annual Golf Field Trip in PE! A huge THANK YOU to Mr. Josh Bowlin and the incredible crew at Glynn's Creek Golf Course for giving our students the opportunity to learn, practice, and improve their golf skills in such a welcoming environment. We are so grateful for community partnerships like yours that help provide meaningful experiences outside the classroom. Thank you for investing in our students.

5th grade had a super busy week out of school last week. They started off their week at Biztown, then went to Iowa City for a day at the Steadfast Children’s Hospital for some STEM activities, and finished up their week at Sheridan Meadows for Field Day. These kids know how to work hard and play hard!

Our Second Grade class worked incredibly hard to put on a wax museum. They each picked a current or historical person of significance and researched them. Then they dressed up as that person and held a wax museum for their family. They did such a great job we are still referring to them as their historical figure. 😉

Glow Art! Mrs Graham did it again. She completely transformed the art room into the coolest space to get creative!

4th Grade tried out a new field trip this year. They took a ride on the Celebration Belle. It was a hit as the students learned a lot and had a great time.

We, the staff at Alan Shepard, want to give a HUGE thank you to our PTO and our amazing families who made us feel so loved throughout the school year and especially on Teacher Appreciation Week! You all blessed us with a beverage bar with breakfast, lunches, a fun game with amazing prizes, massages over lunch, snacks throughout the day, and a super fun throwback to the 90s theme. Thank you so much!!!
