A-Z Chamber Visits
The Long Prairie Area Chamber of Commerce visited Chamber member- KEYL/KXDL Radio. The Chamber wants to connect and network with all its members and share a FB post with photos and information about the business or non-profit. The Chamber director, Luan Thomas-Brunkhorst went to visit our Long Prairie radio station.
Since I began at the Long Prairie Area Chamber of Commerce, KEYL/KXDL has been a loyal Chamber member and a supportive, promotional vehicle for getting the word out about events, activities and initiatives going on in Long Prairie and the surrounding area. Both Al Bailey and Clif Cline welcome me to be on Open Mic every month, the first Friday of the month. People listen to Open Mic. As I walk back to my office in the library building, one block away, residents stop me and say, “I just heard you on the radio.”
The Chamber also has a customized yearly ad plan, and it is apparent that locals listen to ads as well because they stop me at the supermarket and at the bank and tell me that they were listening to me on the radio doing a commercial for Prairie Days, Bright Lights etc. If I don’t have time to do an ad myself, Al or Clif professionally make the ad for me. I appreciate having this type of advertising here in our hometown.
The KEYL AM station was founded by the Engstadt family of North Dakota on September 15, 1959. The FM station was started on May 15, 1992 by Darryl Anderson and Don Schimmerhorn. In 2016, Doug Frauenholtz purchased the station and is still the owner today.
KEYL/KXDL is located in Long Prairie in the Hart Mall - 221 Central Ave. Suite 6. The station broadcasts music, local news, community updates, and high school sports. The station also broadcasts live from the Todd County Fair, local and regional festivals, food and toy drives, and public forums.
If you would like to have KEYL/KXDL broadcast live at an event you are hosting, if you would like to advertise for any activities you are planning, or if you would like to be on Open Mic with Clif, call the office to arrange any of the above: (320) 732-2164
