gs. Today, the area is known for the German Valley Historic District stone structures, excellent services, and its proximity to New York City. Recreation is still an important attribute of the area with numerous Township, County, and State Recreation facilities, and native trout streams and rivers.

Washington Township Municipal Offices will close at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 22, 2026, and will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026. We will reopen at 8:00 am on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

We encourage Township residents to participate in our annual Memorial Day Ceremony at noon on Saturday, May 23 at Rock Spring Park War Memorial Site, 35 East Springtown Road, Long Valley.

Washington Township Recreation and the American Veteran’s Association of Washington Township Post 1776, proudly invites the community to our Annual Memorial Day Ceremony. This meaningful event honors the brave servicemen and servicewomen who have made extraordinary sacrifices in service to our nation.

Join us on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Rock Spring Park Memorial War Site, 35 East Springtown Road, Long Valley. The ceremony will begin promptly at 12:00 noon, rain or shine. We are honored to welcome Major Anthony Frank DeStefano, United States Army (Ret), as this year’s keynote speaker.

Let us come together to pay tribute to our veterans and fallen heroes, ensuring their legacy is remembered with gratitude and respect. Please note that Rock Spring Park will be reserved exclusively for this ceremony and closed to all other activities for the day.
