Fairmount Fire assisted the Long Valley First Aid Squad this afternoon at 2:14 to set up the landing zone for State Police Northstar helicopter for a resident. The landing zone was in the field next to our station. All units cleared 45 minutes after the initial call.

6:09am Dumpster Fire this morning on Ryan Ct. Fairmount, Long Valley and Schooleys Mt. Fire all responded to extinguish the fire and check the residence for exposure. All units returned back to their stations by 7:30am

Last night we responded to a barn fire in Readington Township as part of the Hunterdon County Tender Task Force. We shuttled seven tank loads of water and were released after about four hours of operations. Additionally, we had a crew in our station to assist with any calls in Tewksbury Township since Oldwick Fire Company, Califon Fire Company, and Pottersville Fire Company were also dispatched to the barn fire.

This morning the Fairmount Fire Co., Long Valley Fire Co., Schooleys Mt. Fire Co. and Long Valley First Aid Squad were dispatched at 8:10 am for a Structure Fire at 4 Mountain View Drive. Upon arrival fire conditions were heavy in the rear and side of the house. Special thanks to Chester, Flanders, Califon, Hackettstown Fire for there assistance at the fire scene. The Pottersville and Tri- County Fire Companies stood by at the Fairmount and Schooleys Mt. fire houses in case of another call in Town. All units cleared the scene by 12:30 pm.

Fairmount, Long Valley, and Schooleys Mt. Fire Companies were called to 112 Knob Hill Rd for a brush fire yesterday afternoon. Multiple mutual aid was called due to the rapidly growing size of the fire and there was no access to get apparatus close. Hackettstown, Tri-County, Mansfield, Budd Lake, Flanders, NJ Forest Fire Service, and Long Valley First Aid Squad were all on scene helping to extinguish the fire. All units cleared 2 hours after dispatch.

Yesterday at 4:30 Fairmount Fire was alerted for a kitchen fire in Tewksbury. Assisted by Califon, Oldwick, Lebanon Boro, and High Bridge Fire Companies. First arriving units found the fire extended to the cabinets and items left on the countertop. A Positive Preasure Fan was placed outside to blow out the smoke from the residence and crews removed the burnt kitchen supplies and checked for extention with thermal imaging cameras. All units cleared within the hour.

Fairmount responded to a Gas Leak this afternoon along with Califon, Pottersville, Lebanon Boro, & Oldwick Fire Co. in Tewksbury on Fairmount Rd West. Upon arrival fire units did not detect a leak. The scene was turned over to the gas company for further investigation.

Notice Fairmounts first truck on scene. To everyones surpriss one of our members was out on a test drive checking the repairs he just did. The call was less than a half mile from his location. Pretty cool to see the truck out from 1949.

We are holding our first Annual Valentine's Day Rose Sale on 2/13 from 12pm-7pm and 2/14 from 12pm-6pm at LVFAS building on East Mill Rd. We will be offering 8 different color options and selling by the single, dozen, and 2 dozen. The roses meet the highest standards and are supplied by a local Morris County florist. Walk-in purchases will be available on a first-come-first- serve basis, while an online preorder will soon be available allowing for guarantee pickup on the above dates.

Last night during the Super Bowl we were dispatched with Califon Fire and Tewksbury Rescue Squad for a motor vehicle accident. Once on scene fire crews checked the 2 patients that self extricated themselves from the vehicle for injuries and tended to overturned car remediating the fluid leaks. All crews cleared the scene about an hour and a half later.

Fairmount, Long Valley & Schooleys Mt. Fire were dispatched this afternoon to a residence on Carriage Hill Rd for the reported smell of smoke inside the structure. Upon arrival of Fairmount Fire we found a live squirrel inside the furnace in the basement. We took apart the back of the furnace to access the squirrel to free him. Fire units were on scene for about 45 minutes and the squirrel was returned to the backyard of the residence.

As 2019 comes to a close the Members of the Fairmount Fire Company want to thank the Community, Township Committee, and our most especially our Members for a successful year. We also want to thank our Mutual Aid, Fire and First Aid Companies that worked with us as well. In 2019 we celebrated our 70th year Anniversary of providing Fire Protection Services for the residents of Washington and Tewksbury Townships, the arrival of a new 2019 Chevy Chiefs Truck and the arrival of the new Engine 2-2 a 2019 Spartan. We responded to over 290 calls for help this past year and countless hours on Training and Fund Raising.

We are always looking for new members, whether you want to be a Firefighter or help out with Fund Raising or even be apart of a team we will graciously accept your help.

We wish everyone a Happy, Healthy, and Safe 2020 and look forward to serving the resident for may years to come.
