⚽🌍 Friday Fun Day at Greenwood Camp was extra special! 🌍

As we wrapped up our World Cup-themed week, campers were surprised with a special visit from Hartford Athletic's beloved mascot, Dillon!

Dillon is the club's wacky, fluffy, and friendly version of the legendary Glawackus—a mythical Connecticut creature with only one recorded sighting dating back to the 1930s. Sporting his signature green-and-blue fur, an all-green mustache, and soccer ball antennas that celebrate his love of the beautiful game, Dillon brought plenty of smiles, high-fives, and excitement to camp.

A huge thank you to Hartford Athletic for making our Friday Fun Day one to remember and helping us finish an amazing week of soccer-themed games, activities, and fun! 💙💚⚽

Greenwood campers and counselors were treated to Mad Science's "Up Up and Away" presentation this past Friday. This spellbinding special event introduced children to the principles of air and pressure. Children saw an incredible exothermic reaction take place and even got the chance to watch Bernoulli's principle in action!

Rain, rain, go away... but not before we have some serious fun at Greenwood Camp's Circus Week! Mask-making and board game battles were the perfect antidotes to the rainy days 😂🎉

Summer's heating up at LPRD - and so is our track! Skyhawks Track & Field Camp is coming to Longmeadow High School July 20–23 (Mon–Thurs, 9am–12pm) for ages 7–12. Kids will build speed, strength, and confidence while learning real track & field events in a fun, supportive setting.
* Heads up — registration closes this Wednesday, 7/15, so don't wait!

And right after that, keep the summer going with Multi-Sport Camp at Bliss Park, July 27–30 - a great way for kids to try a mix of sports in one action-packed week.

Longmeadow 12U All-Stars Roll Past Canton, Advance at Sectionals

The Longmeadow 12U All-Stars continued their postseason run in impressive fashion Wednesday, defeating District 11 champion Canton 12-1 in four innings at Turner Park to advance in the Massachusetts Sectional Tournament.

Longmeadow wasted little time taking control, scoring twice in the opening inning before erupting for five runs in the second to build a commanding lead. The offense struck again in the fourth, plating five more runs to end the game early.

Emily S paced the offense with a perfect 3-for-3 performance, including two doubles and a single while driving in two runs. Abby F also delivered a big day at the plate, tripling and finishing with two RBIs, while Viv M added two RBIs with a key fourth-inning single. Maggie D collected two hits and helped spark the offense from the top of the lineup.

Maggie D also shined in the circle, allowing just one run on two hits over four innings while striking out six to earn the victory.

Longmeadow’s defense was equally sharp, playing error-free softball behind its pitching staff. Emily S handled a team-high seven defensive chances as the All-Stars completed another clean performance in the field.

With the win, Longmeadow moves one step closer to a berth in the Massachusetts 12U State Tournament as its impressive postseason run continues.

Come join us on the Town Green tomorrow for an evening of San Francisco Bay Area music with the band Oakland Stroke! 🎤🎼

Batch Ice Cream will be joining us there, too, so bring a picnic dinner but leave dessert at home. 🍦It's going to be a great summer night!
