One does not simply certify an election, where the actual winner is not known.

Marly Hornik, founder of the election-integrity group NY Citizens Audit, says her organization has reviewed ๐ ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐จ๐ง ballots cast in New York Cityโs mayoral race and found a staggering rate of irregularities. In a July 22 interview on WABCโs ๐๐ช๐ฅ & ๐๐ณ๐ช๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ด ๐ช๐ฏ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฏ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ, Hornik laid out the numbers: ๐% ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฏ๐ข๐๐ฐ๐๐ ๐ฏ๐จ๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ฌ ๐๐ข๐๐งโ๐ญ ๐๐ฑ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ in any legitimate record, 6% used fake Social Security numbers, and 10% didnโt actually live in New York City.
Extrapolated across the full electorate, that works out to roughly ๐๐๐,๐๐๐ ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ ๐๐ฅ ๐ฏ๐จ๐ญ๐๐ฌ โ a figure that exceeds Zohran Mamdaniโs entire 207,000-vote margin over independent candidate Andrew Cuomo. Hornik was careful not to overstate her conclusion. Her point was narrower, and more damning: nobody actually knows.

New York City just installed a self-described socialist as its mayor on a margin smaller than the number of ballots an outside audit says shouldnโt have counted. If the Boards of Elections canโt verify their own rolls, the burden is on them to prove the result, not on the public to accept it on faith.
