Congratulations to Anh Lai-O’Connell, LCSW (Aurora, Parker), Marianne Stenhouse, LCSW, OSW-C (Longmont) and Dr. Robert Fisher (Longmont) on the acceptance of their abstract “Empower your Recovery: A survivorship program for healing and growth for living beyond cancer” as a panel presentation at the Association of Oncology Social Workers annual conference in 2016.

The panel presentation will be an opportunity to showcase RMCC’s work on the 5-week survivorship group, speak on the importance of addressing survivorship challenges, highlight its collaboration with Pink Ribbon Survivors Network and kick start the program facilitator manual’s availability to cancer communities nationwide.

REMINDER: Next Monday (5/19) Rose Medical Center is hosting a lecture titled "Healthy Living Practices After Breast Cancer." The program will feature Claire Petretti Marti, an accomplished Yoga instructor who has developed several programs designed for breast cancer recovery, and Dr. Rob Fisher, MD Medical Oncologist at Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers and Co-Founder and President of the Pink Ribbon Survivors Network, who will speak on nutritional aspects of breast cancer recovery.

Are you an early stage breast cancer survivor between the age of 19 and 45? Researchers at the University of Colorado (Denver) are interested in learning what influences quality of life in young breast cancer survivors, with the intention of designing support groups or ways of screening that might make adjusting to a breast cancer diagnosis less difficult for young women.
