🚩 As of today, we are currently under a Red Flag Alert. This is not a burn ban, but conditions are extremely dry and windy, which increases the risk of fires spreading quickly.

Please use extra caution outdoors and be mindful of anything that could spark a fire. Stay safe, especially with these high winds!

Highway No. 9 Community Center Update

We want to sincerely thank everyone who attended the recent community meeting. The turnout was wonderful, and the discussion was informative and productive. We appreciate the respectful participation and continued support for our community center.

As discussed at the meeting, the first step moving forward is to elect an official permanent board.

This process will officially begin on:

📅 March 12 at 6:30 PM
📍 Highway No. 9 Community Center

If you are interested in being a candidate for the permanent board, you must attend the March 12 meeting. Candidates will be required to:

• Sign in with your name and contact information
• Introduce yourself
• Speak briefly to the temporary board and community
• Participate in a Q&A session

The March 12 meeting will conclude once all candidates have spoken and completed the Q&A portion.

Following that, a second meeting will be held approximately 30 days later (in April) for the official election. We strongly encourage all community members to attend and vote.

Important to note:

• The April meeting will be for voting only.
• There will be no candidate speeches, discussion, or Q&A that night.
• If you want to meet or hear from candidates, you must attend the March 12 meeting or contact them during the 30-day period prior to the election.

At the conclusion of the March 12 meeting, we will post the full list of declared candidates. This will allow the community time to reach out, ask questions, and allow candidates time to share their vision before the April election.

The board elected in April will become the official permanent board immediately following the vote.

We look forward to continued transparency, participation, and community involvement as we move forward together.
