Thank you so much to all who attended for making our 34th annual International Festival so successful. We danced, sang, ate, and celebrated so many cultures.

Thank you also to all of our sponsors, vendors, and performing artists, and of course, the International Festival committee for making this an amazing community event.

Ethnic Support Council grieves and prays with our community as we hear updates on the extent of the losses of human lives resulting from Tuesday's catastrophic event at the Nippon Dynawave Packaging Co. mill in Longview.

Like you, we are distressed that so many lives are forever changed.

Our hearts are breaking as we consider how devastated families and friends are knowing their loved ones did not survive.

We send healing prayers to the injured survivors and to everyone affected directly or indirectly.

The Ethnic Support Council's 34th Annual International Festival is going on as planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 30 at Lower Columbia College in Longview, WA.

We have had out of area performers from as far as Montana concerned it might be unsafe to travel to Longview for the International Festival.

Emergency response officials have assured our community there is no immediate threat to the public following Tuesday's tragic chemical implosion that occurred at the Nippon Dynawave Packaging Co. in Longview's industrial area.

Our Ethnic Support Council staff and International Festival planning team grieve with family and friends of employees killed or injured in the catastrophic event. We pray for all affected.

The Ethnic Support Council office is CLOSED Monday, May 25, 2026 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.

Please join us as we remember, mourn and honor the military members who gave their lives to serve our country.

Please also remember the sacrifices their families have given and continue to give.

Executive Director Mikie Steiner attended Inatai Foundation’s gathering representing Ethnic Support Council of Cowlitz County. She participated in classes and conversations that help us build community power and formed connections with other organizations who support and do similar work.
