This is so important!

Streamline DDA and keep kids enrolled!

Sign in support of HB 1407 by 12:30 pm Wednesday!

https://app.leg.wa.gov/csi/Testifier/Add?chamber=House&mId=30531&aId=149766&caId=20685&tId=3

Intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) are significant, chronic, and have lifelong impact. If a child has autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy or any of the other conditions associated with IDD at age 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 ... they will STILL have that condition at age 10.

But our state requires 10-year-olds to get reevaluated for supports through the Developmental Disability Administration (DDA).

We are unique in requiring the extra step and it interrupts support for kids and families who need it.

HB 1407 removes the re-evaluation for 10-year-olds.

It ALSO frees up valuable time for case managers and reduces administration.

It does not change the requirements for re-evaluation at age 19.

Signing in means you are noting your position to the legislative committee hearing the bill. It is being heard Wednesday, January 25, at 1:30 pm. You must sign in by 12:30 pm on Wednesday.

Miss that deadline? You can also send in written testimony. You have until Thursday, 1:30 pm, to send in written testimony. That link is here.
