I had to pitch my own business plan to the state of Texas to be approved for a Individual Employment Plan for $20,000.

I didn't have investors. I didn't have a business background in real estate. What I had was a Vocational Rehab program, a hard season I was determined to turn into something, and a plan I believed in enough to defend in front of strangers who could say no.

They said yes. That $20,000 became the seed for what's now Bloom House Living — supportive housing for veterans, seniors, and adults on fixed incomes across East Texas.

If you're sitting on an idea right now, waiting until it feels less scary to pitch it: it never fully stops feeling scary. You do it anyway. 💪

Since launching earlier this year, we've helped connect an estimated 45 people in our community to housing, SNAP benefits, food pantries, subsidized cell phone service, and other resources they needed. 📊

That's 45 people who had somewhere to turn instead of falling through the cracks.

This is just the beginning.

Building this hasn't been easy — and I don't try to make it look like it was.

Behind every property, every resident housed, every "yes" when someone else said no — there's been a lot of figuring it out as I go, betting on myself, and refusing to give up on people the system overlooks.

This is what it actually looks like to build something that matters. 🎬

My grandfather is the whole reason this business exists.

I got educated on Medicare by helping him navigate his own benefits. What I found along the way wasn't just paperwork — it was a living situation that had quietly deteriorated, right under our family's nose. Nobody meant for it to happen. It just... happened, the way it happens to so many families who don't know what to watch for or who to call.

That's why Bloom House Living exists. Not because I set out to build a business — because I never want another family to find out too late, the way we almost did. 💛
