🎉 Congratulations, Candice Houser! 🎉

Today, we want to take a moment to recognize an incredible accomplishment by one of our own, Candice Houser, who took her CORE test and passed with flying colors! 👏👏👏

This is truly a full-circle moment.
Not long ago, Candice entered the PACT Program as a participant, determined to change the direction of her life. She put in the hard work, stayed committed to her recovery, completed the program, and continued building a better future for herself.

Today, she is a full-time employee at the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office, giving back to the very program that once helped save her life.

This is exactly what the PACT Program is all about—helping people who are struggling with addiction find a way out, reducing recidivism, restoring hope, rebuilding families, and transforming lives. Candice is a living example that recovery is possible and that people can overcome incredible obstacles when given the opportunity, support, and tools to succeed.

Her journey reminds us why we do what we do every day. We don't just change outcomes—we change lives.
Candice, we are incredibly proud of you and all that you have accomplished. Your dedication, perseverance, and willingness to give back to others serve as an inspiration to everyone around you.

Today, the P.A.C.T. Program at the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office had the opportunity to train all new jailers on the administration of Narcan in our continued effort to help combat the opioid epidemic and ensure our staff are prepared for any situation they may encounter.

These trainings are critical. Every second matters during an overdose emergency, and equipping our jail staff with the knowledge and tools to respond can truly save lives.

In addition to Narcan training, the new jailers also completed their CPR certification training, which is required every two years to remain in compliance.

We are proud of the dedication these men and women continue to show in serving our community with professionalism, compassion, and preparedness.

Together, through education, training, and teamwork, we continue making a difference.

Today we want to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to Lauren Anderson and Kristen Strickland for spending part of their Mother’s Day loving on the women at the Lonoke County Jail. ❤️

Alongside Sinners Saved by Grace Ministry, they helped make the day special by providing gift bags filled with love, encouragement, and hope for the women who are currently incarcerated. Mother’s Day can be especially difficult for mothers who are separated from their children and families, and their kindness reminded these women that they are still seen, valued, and cared for.

We are especially proud of Kristen Strickland, who is also a graduate of the PACT Program, for continuing to pay it forward and be a light to others walking through difficult seasons. Seeing graduates come back and help others is what this mission is all about.

“Our prayer is that each woman felt seen, valued, and reminded that God’s grace still reaches every heart and every circumstance.”

Thank you to everyone involved who helped share the love of Jesus beyond the walls. Moments like this matter more than people realize. 👏

Today we want to give a HUGE congratulations to Stacie Goff on graduating Phase 1 of House of Faith and officially moving into Phase 2! 👏🔥

To watch the growth, determination, and progress she has made has been absolutely amazing. Recovery is not easy, and every single step forward takes courage, accountability, and hard work — and Stacie is proving every day that change is possible.
We at the Sheriff’s Office and the P.A.C.T. Program could not be any more proud of her and everything she is accomplishing. She is continuing to stay focused, push forward, and fight for a better future.
The best part? She is set to graduate the P.A.C.T. Program next month! 💪

🚨 National Fentanyl Awareness Day 🚨

Today in the P.A.C.T. Program, we took time to reflect on the lives lost to the fentanyl epidemic. For many in our group, this isn’t just a statistic — it’s personal. Almost everyone knows someone who has been taken by this drug.

In response, we got to work.
💉 We built more Narcan kits
💉 We reinforced education on overdose response
💉 We had real conversations about prevention and responsibility

One thing is clear — Narcan saves lives.
Because of education, awareness, and access to life-saving tools like Narcan, we are seeing a real drop in overdose deaths. That means what we’re doing is working.
But let’s be clear…

➡️ The fight is NOT over
➡️ The work is NOT done

We will continue standing on the front lines — educating, equipping, and empowering our community to save lives.

Today, the P.A.C.T. Program had the opportunity to receive training on Naloxone (Narcan)—a life-saving medication that can reverse an opioid overdose.

When we asked how many people have been affected by overdose, either personally or through someone they know, nearly every hand went up. That reality reminds us why this work matters.

Our goal today was simple:
To equip every participant with the knowledge to recognize the signs of an overdose and the confidence to act when it matters most. Lives depend on it.

Each participant will leave with two doses of Naloxone, prepared not just to continue their recovery—but to save someone else’s life potentially.

We are on the front lines every day in the fight against the opioid epidemic. And because of efforts like this, we are seeing real impact—overdose deaths are declining, and lives are being saved.

Today at the P.A.C.T. Program, we were honored to have three incredible women from Grace Community Church in Ward come share their personal recovery stories. Their courage, honesty, and willingness to speak life into others brought hope and inspiration to every person in the room.

Our participants truly connected with their message, and it’s moments like this that remind us why this program matters.
We want to sincerely thank them for taking time out of their day to pour into the lives of others. That kind of service makes a difference.

Lonoke County continues to lead the way in addressing addiction in our community. When we come together like this—sharing stories, building connection, and offering hope—we start to see real change. We’re lowering recidivism, and the numbers don’t lie

This is what it looks like when a community steps up.

It truly takes a village.

Today, we would like to recognize Candice Houser and Terra Shatzer for receiving an award for their hard work and dedication 👏
Both of these women are outstanding assets to our team and truly exemplify compassion, commitment, and service to those in recovery.

Candice is a proud graduate of the P.A.C.T. Program and is now paying it forward by serving the very program that helped change her life. That’s what recovery is all about.

Candice and Terra met each other in recovery, and today they continue to walk that journey side by side—now serving others together. That’s powerful.

We are incredibly proud of our entire team. Each member carries a unique story and strength that helps make this program what it is.

Group 15 of the P.A.C.T. Program experienced something truly powerful this week.
We had the honor of witnessing several of our participants take the next step in their journey and be baptized — a moment that represents not just change, but transformation. To see this happen during the week of Passover made it even more meaningful, symbolizing renewal, freedom, and a fresh start.
Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. Real change is happening. Lives are being rebuilt. Hope is being restored.
Proud of each and every one of them for making the decision to step into something greater.
