I have attended almost every City Council meeting for the past five years since moving to Lonsdale and I serve as Vice President on the City of Lonsdale's Economic Development Authority (EDA).

Thank you to all the Lonsdale residents who supported my campaign and voted for me. It was close but I lost by six votes! This is the perfect opportunity to congratulate Scott Pelava and David Webb for their re-election and election to the Lonsdale City Council. They both are upstanding guys and will do a great job serving on City Council. They both have my support. Congratulations also go to Mayor Rud for his re-election and his continued leadership.
I will continue to attend the City Council meetings and to stay involved with various projects.

Again, thank you Lonsdale and thank you to all of you who voted for me. Your support will always be truly appreciated!

After attending numerous City Council meetings for the past five years, I have decided to step up and run for City Council in Lonsdale. I am a member of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and the Minnesota Government Finance Officers Association (MnGFOA). I review local government budgets for the GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards Program and I'm a candidate for the GFOA Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) certification. Approving the annual budget is one of the most important functions of a City Council. As a City Council person for Lonsdale I would like to see more narrative and graphics included in the budget to make it more accessible to the residents and tell Lonsdale's story. Additionally, I would like to see the City of Lonsdale adopt a five year capital improvement plan (CIP). The City uses a plan for the street maintenance and police station and I would like to see the City use it for public works and the parks. Lonsdale has a lot of big ticket items and projects coming up and a five year capital improvement plan would help staff and council prioritize and plan the financing for equipment and projects using residents input. This would help the City maintain its AA- bond rating which is outstanding for a City the size of Lonsdale.
