JG Media obtained some fantastic photos of the Shoals catfish parade. Our station was represented with two vehicles in the parade and had a few members assist with traffic control.

Parades offer a great chance for the citizens of the county to see the departments' assets and see some of the faces of their county's first responders. JG Media

Due to the heat and humidity, as well as the upcoming festivities, it is recommended that you take regular breaks and drink plenty of fluids. Heat-related injuries are preventable. It is essential to listen to your body. Stay safe and have a fun-filled summer.

This is great to see.

In every disaster situation, communication is the greatest asset you can have. When cell phones stop working, ham radios and qualified operators become instrumental for emergency services to continue operating smoothly.

The Martin County Amateur Radio Club - MCARC is an amazing asset for the county. Anyone wanting to learn about radios, assist emergency response efforts, or just have peace of mind that when a disaster hits you can contact someone for help, should reach out and come to a meeting to become a qualified operator.

We went 4 for 4 on successful license testing during our June Testing Session!

Congratulations to our 1 new Technician licensee, who received a free radio from the club, and to the 3 operators who upgraded from Technician to General Class.

Another day brings another storm to our area. It appears that the worst conditions will occur later in the evening. Several small creeks and other runoff areas remain quite full, so please be vigilant for potential flash flooding.

⚡ TUESDAY OUTAGE UPDATE ⚡

Our crews continue working to restore power to the remaining outages across our service territory following the severe weather that impacted our region. The bulk of the damage occurred in the Dover Hill area, where the National Weather Service confirmed an EF0 tornado touched down and remained on the ground for approximately two miles.

We are making steady progress and currently estimate that all remaining outages will be restored by the end of the day.

We appreciate your patience, support, and understanding as our crews continue working safely to restore power to every affected member.
