Martin County Democrats The mission of the Martin County Democrat Party is to protect, expand and grow the Democrat Party.

This is best accomplished by doing the following: attend the meetings, hold special meetings for County & State candidates which will be a venue for them to promote their campaign / office, Seek out candidates to fill all County races - either by primary elections or by appointments, work as a team to build a strong slate of candidates & avoid cannibalizing the party from within, & achieve a statu

s as a party that all candidates feel the need to belong to the Democratic Party for their support !!

At 6:15 p.m. on Monday, April 1st, the Democrat Party will hold a caucus to elect a Democrat County Chairperson to fill the position formerly held by Roger Downey. Anyone interested in the position of Martin County Democrat Chairman will need to send a letter of declaration of candidacy to the County Vice Chairman, Audra P. Deckard, at least 72 hours before the caucus. There will be no discussion or nominations from the floor. All Martin County Democrat Precinct Committeemen are eligible to vote.

At 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 1st, there will be a caucus to appoint the elected Democrat open seat vacancy of the Shoals Town Clerk-Treasurer at the Shoals Town Hall. The caucus is not open to the public. Only the Precinct Chairmen for East Memphis and West Memphis will be voting.
Individuals eligible in declaring candidacy for the Democrat Town Clerk-Treasurer seat must file a Form CEB-5 and CAN-12 with Martin County Democrat Vice Chairman Audra P. Deckard, at P.O. Box 240, Shoals, Indiana 47581, or [email protected] no later than 72 hours prior to the start of the caucus. No discussion or nominations from the floor.
