Fall back! Daylight saving time officially ends at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 2, when clocks should be set back one hour. This is a good reminder to test your smoke alarms and replace batteries this weekend.

According to the National Fire Protection Association, three out of five fire deaths occur in homes without working smoke alarms.

We remember the nearly 3,000 people that lost their lives on September 11, 2001. We honor and remember those who ran into the buildings in the face of grave danger to try to save lives and the over 400 first responders who paid the ultimate sacrifice doing so.

All fire departments in the USA continue to hold the line for the 343 firefighters who died that day.

Last Monday, we had a great mutual aid training with the Town of Lookout Mountain Tennessee Fire Department. We ran through different scenarios, utilized a smoke machine for search & rescue, practiced hose advancement and fireground communication. Many thanks to our partners on the Tennessee side for inviting us over. We will get to train in this house a couple more times before it is torn down.

We train with LMFD TN twice a month and our relationship with their department is vital to public safety in both of our communities.
