Tonight we’d like to give a huge thank you to Mission BBQ for catering dinner for our crews. The food was outstanding, but what means even more is the consistent support they show to first responders, veterans, and heroes throughout the community.

It never goes unnoticed when local businesses take the time to give back to the people serving others every day. From supporting firefighters, police, EMS, military members, and countless community events, Mission BBQ continues to lead with appreciation and patriotism.

We are incredibly grateful for the generosity, hospitality, and support. Thank you for always having our backs and for everything you do for the community we all proudly serve. 🇺🇸🚒

Lorain Fire Department is starting its annual fire hydrant maintenance program this week.

Firefighters will inspect for any damage, remove and check the caps, check for water pressure and flush it out to clear any sediment.

The program is expected to run until the end of June. Make sure to check the City of Lorain, OH page daily to see what neighborhoods are being tested.

Residents are reminded that if they encounter rusty or discolored water flowing from the home faucets, they should run only cold water for a few minutes until it clears.

As a reminder, please keep the area around hydrants clear, and call the fire department if you notice a hydrant is damaged or leaking.

Yesterday was a powerful reminder of what community truly means.

The members of the Lorain Fire Department and IAFF Local 267 would like to personally thank everyone who came out and voted in support of Issue 15. Seeing the citizens of Lorain recognize the importance of the fire service in such an overwhelming way means more to us than words can express.

We are more than just the people you see on emergency scenes we are your neighbors. We see you at Fligner’s Market grabbing groceries, at K Cream Corner getting ice cream with the kids, at school events, church gatherings, youth sports, and throughout every neighborhood in this city we proudly call home.

That’s what makes Lorain special. We are a community that shows up for one another. Yesterday, you showed up for us in a way we will never forget.

Your support is not taken lightly. We promise to continue giving this city everything we have to go above and beyond whenever we are called upon to help the citizens of Lorain, just as this community went above and beyond for us.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in us, supporting us, and standing beside us.
