Starting in 1985, Bandagski served as a fire fighter with the Sheffield Township Fire Department, eventually taking the leading role of fire chief in 2008. He retired from the department approximately two years ago.

The members of the Sheffield Township Fire Department would like to send our condolences to the family of Chief Joe Bandagski. Joe provided dedicated service to the residents of Sheffield Township since 1985 and later served as Chief from 2008 until his retirement in 2023. Joe’s dedication and service will never be forgotten. To his wife Lorri, daughter Faythe, and sons Joe , Anthony, and Andrew know that we grieve with you and are by your side during these difficult times.
