Lorton Volunteer Fire Department had the opportunity to welcome community members for a station tour.

Our visitors learned about the different roles of firefighters and EMS personnel, explored the ambulance, and got a firsthand look at some of the equipment and tools our volunteers members use to help provide emergency care for our Lorton community.

They also learned about the daily activities of a fire station, from preparing equipment and maintaining our apparatus to training, responding to emergencies, and being ready to serve our Lorton community 24/7.

Today, the Lorton Volunteer Fire Department is participating in the Back to School Community Day at the Lorton Community Center!

It is a great opportunity to connect with our community, meet so many amazing families, and share important fire safety and emergency preparedness information with students as they get ready for a new school year. From showing off our equipment to answering questions and handing out educational materials, we loved spending the day with everyone.

Our volunteers have been hard at work getting everything ready for tomorrow’s Lorton Volunteer Fire Department Ice Cream Social & Co****le Tournament. From setting up the co****le boards and decorating the hall to preparing for ice cream, games, and family fun, we can’t wait to welcome everyone!
