Long Beach Gives is a community-wide giving event that brings together local nonprofits to raise support for the work we do in Long Beach and beyond.

Thank you to our friends at Five Points for Kids and the Orange County Sheriff's Department for donating 50 backpacks filled with school supplies for the youth we serve.

Every backpack is a reminder to our kids that people they've never met are cheering them on and want them to succeed.

Every Tuesday, our volunteer Brian brings our youth groceries, a recipe, and the same familiar smile. Together, they cook, laugh, and share a meal.

But what our youth remember most is that Brian came back.

Every child deserves someone who keeps showing up. You don’t have to have all the answers. You don’t have to change a life overnight.

For most kids, summer means sleeping in, time with friends, and family adventures.

For the kids at Casa Youth Shelter, those moments aren't always guaranteed.

At Casa Youth Shelter, there's always someone to talk to.

Sometimes that looks like a conversation around the dinner table. Sometimes it's a counseling session to work through something big. And sometimes it's a volunteer sitting down to play a game—because the smallest moments can mean the most.

Connection doesn't always announce itself.
But it shows up here. Every day.
