💡The City’s General Fund serves as the primary source to fund essential services, including public safety, public works, and recreation programs. This fund is fueled by several revenue sources:

🛍️ Sales Taxes: paid by local purchases on items such as gas, clothes, and coffee. Items such as groceries and medication are exempt from sales tax under California State Law.

🏡Property Tax: paid by residents or businesses who own real estate like a house, an apartment building, or a piece of land.

🏨Hotel Visitors Tax: paid by visitors staying in local hotels or short-term rentals.

📔 Permit and License Fees: Fees for specific services, such as a business license.

🗑️ Franchise Fees: Paid by utility companies like electric, gas, cable, or trash services that use a portion of the City’s infrastructure.
