Do you know about Trinket Trading? Trinket Trading is a "whimsical exchange" of small items at cons, concerts, festivals, and ren faires. It's a fun and simple way to create community and charm around an event. Atomicon 2026 is a Trinket Trade-friendly event. You're invited to bring things to trade or visit the Trinket Trade tent in RenFairy Village for a pouch of trade items.
Trinkets might be a bead, a bracelet, a shiny rock, a charm, a tiny toy, or any small thing you have or have made. Trinkets aren't meant to be valuables, except maybe in the fairy realm. Trading is completely voluntary and there is no pressure to join in.
𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗴𝗼 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲:
𝘈𝘴𝘬 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵: Always ask if someone would like to trade before offering your trinket. Some guests may prefer to admire from afar or may have limited trinkets to trade. You can give without receiving, too!
𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘉𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴: Not everyone will be familiar with Trinket Trading, so be respectful if someone declines your offer.
𝘉𝘦 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴: Accept all trinkets with gratitude, even if they don’t match your personal taste. Remember, it’s the thought and interaction that count.
