2026 marks 30 years of the Family Resource Center in Los Alamos! Family Strengths Network began as a child abuse prevention organization in 1989 and opened the FRC in 1996. Originally at the Pueblo Complex, it was intended as a place for local families to connect, enjoy children’s programs, participate in parenting classes, and more. Sound familiar? The spirit and purpose of the FRC has remained the same, though it has expanded its programming over the years and relocated to Orange Street since.
To celebrate the FRC’s 30th birthday, we are making this year’s annual Summer Splash extra special with birthday cake and T-shirts available to purchase and tie-dye, as well as other FSN swag. Proceeds will go toward upgrades and makeovers for the FRC to freshen up the space. In the meantime, we’ll be sharing old photos and articles about the FRC. If you have any memories or experiences to share of the FRC (old or new), please comment or send them to us ([email protected]) to help with our month of reminiscing!
Summer Splash will be held Friday June 26 and Saturday June 27 from 10AM-12PM at FSN (3540 Orange St). Thanks to N3B Los Alamos for sponsoring this event!
