Municipalism Learning Series

This is the municipalist moment. Municipalists see the urban areas as the new site of contestation for popular power and material resources.

New or radical municipalism is the emergent global movement to seize the city and liberate it from neoliberal capitalism and the nation-state. The metropolis is where people can build alternatives to capitalism based on cooperation and solidarity, neighbors can assemble to govern themselves, and a subjectivity for a new world can be born.

🎂 Celebrating 10 Years of Solidarity Research

A decade ago, we set out to create research and education that serves movements, not institutions. As we celebrate this milestone, we're reflecting on what we built together in 2025:

📚 A full year of Municipalism Learning Series programming—connecting organizers and thinkers exploring democratic alternatives

📊 Groundbreaking regional economic analysis with Cooperacion Santa Ana, mapping paths toward a regenerative economy in Orange County

💙 Our new Care Economy Circle, reimagining social reproduction beyond capitalism
This work happens because of communities building alternatives right now—and your support makes it possible.

We're raising $10,000 by year's end to launch our second Municipalism Cohort Fellowship, expand research partnerships, and deepen our political education work.

Can you help us start our second decade strong?
