I greatly appreciate all your comments and advice. Now on to the task of getting rid of this contractor and finding someone to proceed with the project.

Please help - this looks shoddy/inadequately framed to me, but I have no construction experience.

I did poured concrete footers in 16x48 forms. It sucked digging through tree roots even with an auger. The concrete is 9000 psi. I used 6x6s in post bases in the concrete. (Simpson strong tie CB66) These things are now there until a freaking meteor hits the earth.

But, now due to the height, I'm short on vertical space to put 2x8 joists on top of double 2x10 beams and still have room for 2x6 deck boards while staying low enough to go under my sliding door.

Anyway. To keep the beams low enough the 3 double 2x10 beams are currently either side bolted or hanging on with HUCQ-210 concealed joist hangers because I can't notch into the beams low enough. Also can't fit the z shaped deck ties under the beams.

What can I do better?

Just curious in my setup what the community would recommend (if anything) to laterally support the beams from rolling over. I was thinking maybe some perpendicular boards? If so any recommended way to attach them?
