Recognizing a hero who went above and beyond in service to Los Angeles. 💡👏

Today, the City Council and Ysabel Jurado honored Mark Nestlehutt, a Bureau of Street Lighting Electrician, for his extraordinary actions while on duty. After witnessing a vehicle-pedestrian collision that left an Angeleno pinned beneath and dragged by a vehicle, Mark immediately stepped in to help, working to extricate the individual from underneath the vehicle and assist in saving their life.

Mark’s courage, quick thinking and willingness to act reflect the values at the heart of the Bureau of Street Lighting: service, safety, integrity and an unwavering commitment to our communities.

His actions embody the highest standards of public service and serve as a powerful example of civic heroism.

We are proud to recognize Mark and grateful to have employees like him serving the people of Los Angeles.
