We were so happy to celebrate the joy of Christmas with over 300 families in our annual Navidad Con Obispo Brian Nunes event this past Saturday December 13th. Thank you to all of our sponsors Chase, Parishioners Federal Credit Union, Kenny Lund, Gary Krauss, Elizabeth Fan, James Lo Coco, Luis Chacon, and our in-kind Macy's, Dependable Supply Chain Services, Northgate Gonzalez Markets, Lilianas Tamales, Sonora Bakery, Family and Kids Foundation, and Monarca Bakery. A special thank you Bishop Brian Nunes and Deacon Bill Pilkington for brightening the day for so many kids in our community. A final thanks you to all of the Catholic Charities San Gabriel Region Board members and volunteers especially Kaiser Permanente who supported our annual event!

A BIG thank you to the countless volunteers that helped us prepare food baskets for the families joining us tomorrow at our Annual Navidad Con Obispo Brian Nunes! We are especially grateful to Dependable Supply Chain Services that provides transportation annually to pick up pallets of food and toys and Chase and Kenny Lund from Allen Lund that put together all food baskets. Thank you for bringing the Christmas spirit to our community!

🎄Annual Christmas Appeal: The Need Has Never Been Greater 🎄

The poor and vulnerable are under siege.
Families across Los Angeles County are facing a crisis that grows worse every month.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, enhanced federal food assistance helped reduce food insecurity among low-income households to 28% by 2021. But those temporary boosts have ended—and rising costs have pushed food insecurity to 44%, surpassing even the pandemic peak. By 2024, 41% of low-income families in L.A. County were struggling to put food on the table, and nearly half of those households have children.

This Christmas, Catholic Charities San Gabriel Region is walking alongside these families—providing food, toys, rental assistance, diapers, clothing, utilities support, and hope. But we cannot do it without you.

Over 300 Eaton Fire Survivors participated in our Disaster Relief Event held this past Saturday at Sacred Heart Parish in Altadena. Survivors were able to sign up for our Disaster Aid Relief for Host Families program and case management. They were able to avail of back-to-school items, new clothing, shoes, toiletries, fruits and vegetables and more. We are thankful to our community partners American Red Cross Los Angeles Region, Catholic Charities USA, Celebration Nation, and Parishioners Federal Credit Union for providing donations and volunteers to support our Eaton Fire Recovery efforts.
