It was a busy week in the Washington D.C. area for our Honor Guard. We participated in the National Fallen Fighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, MD where we paid tribute to our fallen brother Captain Steve McCann along with an earlier visit to Arlington Cemetery where we took part in a special ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We also had the pleasure of dining with one of our original Honor Guard members, Battalion Chief Joey Reed. It was a good week

ACTIVE DUTY PASSING OF FFS SAMUEL NEUBAUER

It is with great sadness and heartbreak we share the passing of one of our own, Fire Fighter Specialist (FFS) Samuel Neubauer.

FFS Neubauer was a beloved member of the LACoFD family who faithfully served our Department and communities for 14 years with great skill, dedication, and courage.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Neubauer family during this extraordinarily difficult time. FFS Neubauer will very much be missed by all of us and we will never forget him.

RIP FFS Neubauer 💔

2020 FIREFIGHTERS’ MEMORIAL ALL CALL

Yesterday, the Los Angeles County Fire Department honored our fallen members in a moving Firefighters’ Memorial All Call Service.

The Memorial Wall, which stands at our Fire Department Headquarters Facility in East Los Angeles, has 95 names etched in stone. 29 members listed paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and 66 members passed away while on active duty.

As part of yesterday’s all call service, we paid special tribute to Fire Fighter Randall Duarte and Battalion Chief Mark Tolbert. Both members passed away in 2019, while on active duty.

We would like to thank the Firefighters’ Memorial Committee, Los Angeles County Firefighters, IAFF Local 1014, our amazing Family Support Group, the Association of Chiefs, Los Angeles County Fire Department Honor Guard, Los Angeles County Fire Department Chaplain's Corner, and Los Angeles County Firefighters Pipes and Drums for standing with us to honor our fallen members along with their families.

We shall never forget.
