North Valley Caring Services In NVCS’ community 41% of families live on incomes below federal poverty level, and 97% of students are considered not fluent in English.

We are a nonprofit organization serving the residents in the San Fernando Valley, offering a wide array of programs to enable residents to lift themselves out of poverty, while also encouraging them to build a vision for their community's future. NVCS actively addresses these needs and those necessary for self-sufficiency by offering 3 major programs, which include literacy classes for the entire

family, after-school youth services, and supportive services for the homeless and local population. Today these programs serve approximately 3,000 individuals each year. Without our programs adults would not have access to English as a 2nd Language classes, bettering their opportunity for employment; pre-school aged children would not gain the necessary skills to enter kindergarten prepared to learn; youth would not have a safe place to go, away from local gangs, where they receive the support they need to succeed; homeless individuals would not receive a warm meal and hot shower several days a week; and so much more. As individuals and families have achieved, grown and succeeded, NVCS has witnessed positive change begin to spread throughout the entire community. One person, one family, and one community at a time, NVCS is making a difference.

Thank You, Kaiser Permanente!

Last week, we were grateful to welcome our partners from Kaiser Permanente as volunteers at our #335 Drive-Thru Food Pantry, where together we served hundreds of families in need.

At North Valley Caring Services, volunteers help make our work possible. From packing food boxes to greeting families with care and dignity, every helping hand makes a difference.

We are now 14 days away from the LA Marathon, and TEAM NVCS is ready to run for you! 25 people will be running the full 26 mile marathon, 12 people the half marathon of 13 miles, and 40 runners for the 5k. They are lacing up and need your help! Please support our runners by contributing to their run by donating to them or NVCS. Your support will help us continue to help the community with education, food, housing and hope!Help by donating or sharing this post!
