🐟 It’s #MPAMonday and we’re so excited that June is here! ☀️ Schools are beginning to wrap up for the semester, so you’ll notice that our daily schedule is scaled back, but we still have some great programming today that will help young learners explore California’s coast and learn about the importance of our network of Marine Protected Areas, or what we call MPAs! 🌊 Here is our line-up for today!
.
9 AM: K-2nd grade “Little Whale in Deep Trouble” Story Time at MacKerricher State Park
.
10 AM: 3rd-5th grade Incredible Tide Pool Animal Adaptations at Crystal Cove State Park
.

🐙 Don’t forget to mark your calendars for next Monday, June 8 which is World Oceans Day 2020! 🐋 We'll be kicking off our last week of programming with a full day of virtual celebrations where students will learn about the important role the ocean plays in our lives and steps we can all take to protect marine animals, their habitats, and healthy ocean ecosystems. 🦀 Keep an eye out for our event schedule next week!

🎉Save the date! It’s been great! We’re wrapping it up with K through 8!

👋 Happy Friday, parents and educators! We’re excited to release next week’s PORTS Home Learning Program schedule! You’ll notice things are looking a little different on our calendar as we wind down for the end of the semester.

🗓 Next week will be the second to last week of our special home learning programs which we designed specifically to support parents and teachers working to educate young learners at home during these challenging times. We have loved seeing your students engage with our PORTS presenters across the state as they have learned about California’s natural resources and cultural heritage during the past few months! Remember to register for the programs at http://www.ports-ca.us!

🌳 As the semester wraps up, California State Parks will be shifting to offer summertime educational programming for all our Junior Rangers and #PORTSfans out there, so stay tuned for more info to come!
