Kicking off EMS Week 2026 at the park! 💙🚑✨
Today marks the start of EMS Week, and we are kicking things off with Health, Wellness & Resilience Day. In this profession, long shifts, demanding calls, and physical stress can take a heavy toll. Today is a vital reminder that taking care of ourselves and each other is just as important as taking care of our patients.

What better way to build resilience and community than coming together? We are spending the afternoon hosting our EMS Week launch celebration! 🎉 The food is great, the music is playing, and it’s wonderful seeing our crews take a break, catch up, and support one another.

Check out some highlights from today’s event! 📸👇
To our incredible crews: thank you for your resilience and for showing up for our communities every single day. Let’s make this week all about celebrating YOU. 🥎🌮

We took some time to celebrate the absolute best in the business for National Medical Billers Day! 🩺💻

Medical billing is a high-stakes puzzle that requires equal parts technical skill and relentless persistence. Our billing professionals are the strategic thinkers who ensure our organization stays strong so we can continue focusing on what matters most: our patients.

To show our appreciation for their hard work, we surprised the team with custom 'Biller’s Survival Kits' and brought in a full BBQ lunch to fuel their mission. 🍖🎁

To our billing team: Thank you for your precision, your problem-solving skills, and the essential work you do every single day. We are lucky to have you!

Honoring Freedom House Ambulance Service

As Black History Month comes to a close, we recognize a group that forever changed emergency medical services in the United States: the Freedom House Ambulance Service.

Founded in 1967 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Freedom House was one of the first modern paramedic services in the country. At a time when ambulance transport was often untrained and inconsistent, Freedom House recruited and trained Black men and women from the Hill District community to deliver advanced prehospital care.

Under the medical direction of Dr. Peter Safar, a pioneer of CPR and resuscitation science, these paramedics were trained to perform advanced life-saving interventions long before “paramedic” became a nationally recognized profession. Their clinical outcomes helped prove that highly trained prehospital providers could dramatically improve survival for critically ill and injured patients.

Despite facing systemic barriers and political resistance, Freedom House laid the foundation for the EMS systems we know today. Their legacy is one of innovation, resilience, and the belief that every community deserves access to high-quality emergency care.

We also recognize the ongoing efforts led by Representative Summer Lee and her team to award Freedom House Ambulance Service the Congressional Gold Medal, one of the highest civilian honors in the United States. This recognition would formally acknowledge the profound and lasting impact Freedom House has had on emergency medicine nationwide.

At LifeLine EMS, we honor these pioneers by continuing to elevate standards of care, invest in professional development, and serve our communities with integrity and compassion.
