The people of the Americas will have the last word!

The ANSWER Coalition is proud to have been a core convener of the 2022 People's Summit for Democracy that gathered thousands in Los Angeles this past week to say NO to Biden’s Summit of the Americas that excluded Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua.

The voice of the excluded was present at the real summit—the one that represented the hundreds of millions of people of this hemisphere—the People's Summit! The People’s Summit brought together so many people and leaders of social movements and organizations from across the region and sectors of struggle that are building resistance to the global capitalist system led by U.S. imperialism.

The People's Summit of Democracy has concluded but our search for building unity in struggle has not. We will be on the streets, in our neighborhoods, in our workplaces and homes, constantly building and organizing, carrying out the thousands of small tasks and big struggles that together bring us closer to victory.

For democracy to prevail, U.S. imperialism just end!
Our planet needs us, our people need us, and we will win!

Last night in Alhambra we honored the life of Christina Yuna Lee with a candlelight vigil. Christina was one of the latest victims of anti-Asian violence in the U.S.

Community members who patrol Asian communities throughout LA and the SGV expressed the importance of countering corporate media’s attempts to sew division amongst oppressed communities by banding together in solidarity for our collective liberation.

Last night in LA we stood in solidarity with Christian Hall’s parents in mourning & we honored his life with a vigil and song after he was tragically murdered by Pennsylvania state police 1 year ago. Like many adoptees, Christian struggled with adoption trauma and needed help. But he didn’t get the help he needed and was murdered instead - the police is unequipped and unwilling to respond without violence to mental health crises in our communities.

In the fight for justice for Christian Hall we demand:
1. A full impartial investigation
2. The removal, arrest, & filing of criminal charges against the involved officers
3. Full funding for mental health resources
4. State required lifetime mandatory post-adoption resources

Sign the petition in support of these demands:

Yesterday hundreds gathered at CNN Los Angeles to denounce corporate media distortions of the U.S.-backed war in Ethiopia, and demand an end to U.S. intervention in the region -- including ending military support for the TPLF and lifting the sanctions on Ethiopian and Eritrea. A second rally was held immediately after in front of Congressman Brad Sherman's office to oppose his warmongering -- including his calling for a naval blockade of Ethiopia -- which is considered to be an act of war under international law.

On Wednesday December 8, 2021 at 10am, Ethiopian Americans of Los Angeles and many supporters will be protesting at the CNN building located at 6340 W Sunset Blvd Los Angeles, CA. 90028.

Over the last 10 months CNN has been falsely reporting that :

1. The terrorist group called Tigrai Peoples Liberation Front (TPLF) has been a victim while in actuality TPLF has committed genocide and ethinc based atrocities in Ethiopia.

2. Nima Elbagir has been CNN’s main reporter on the current war in Northern Ethiopia and rather than interviewing vctim’s of the TPLF ethinc based atrocities, she has made TPLF out to be a hero.

3. TPLF is a N**i Style ethnic supremacy political group that has terrorized Ethiopia for the past 30 years. On November 3 and 4, 2020 this optical group and its treasonous allies try to commit a coup of the Ethiopian Government. TPLF and their allies massacred thousands of government soldiers while the soldiers were asleep.

4. On November 9, 2020 TPLF targeted ethnic Amhara Ethiopians in a north western Ethiopian town called Mai-Kadra. In this instance houses were marked with the word “Amhara” and TPLF and their Tigray rebel allies massacred over 1700 ethnic Amharas.

5. Beginning in June 2021, TPLF left Tigrai Province and invaded other parts of Northern Ethiopia. As a result there are now approximately 3,000,000 Internally Displaced Peoples the vast majority of these IDP victims being first ethnic Amharas, and second ethnic Afars.

6. TPLF and their Tigray Rebel Allies have committed mass gang rapes, mass ethnically targeted atrocities, mass theft, and mass destruction of infrastructure however CNN has portrayed TPLF and their Tigray Rebel Allies as heroes.

📢Join us on Wednesday December 8, 2021 at 10am, at the CNN building located at 6340 W Sunset Blvd Los Angeles, CA. 90028
