Joint Postal Training
From June 4-12, 2026, U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers from the 312th Adjutant General Company partnered with Postal Marines from MCIWEST-MCB Camp Pendleton Postal Operations at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton for annual joint postal training.
The training focused on military postal operations, transportation procedures, field post office operations, postal audits, inspections, accountability requirements, and supervisory responsibilities. Working alongside Marine Corps postal clerks, U.S. Army Reserve postal personnel gained valuable hands-on experience in expeditionary postal environments while enhancing their understanding of transportation management, mail accountability requirements, and critical postal functions.
Beyond technical training, the event strengthened the professional relationship between Army Reserve and Marine Corps postal personnel through the exchange of lessons learned, best practices, and shared operational experiences. Supervisors also had the opportunity to observe and participate in audit and inspection programs, increasing their knowledge of compliance requirements and reinforcing accountability across postal operations.
Joint training opportunities such as this are essential because military postal operations frequently support joint-service environments, contingency operations, exercises, and real-world missions. By training together, Army Reserve and Marine Corps postal professionals develop a common understanding of procedures, strengthen professional networks, and improve their ability to communicate, share resources, and operate seamlessly in support of service members worldwide.
The partnership established during this training built a foundation for future joint operational support while enhancing postal readiness, accountability, and overall mission effectiveness across both services.
