📣Introducing August’s Firefighter of the Month: Firefighter Wyatt Hoyt from Fire Station 11.

For Hoyt, serving Los Angeles has always been more than a career - it’s a calling.

He joined the Cadet Program at just 16 years old, and after experiencing his first structure fire as a Cadet, he knew he was meant to become a firefighter. Today, he serves at Fire Station 11, where he continues to give back to the community that inspired him from a young age.

Hoyt credits the Cadet Program and the mentors he’s had along the way for helping shape his career, and remains committed to training, teamwork, and making a difference on someone’s worst day.

“It’s a calling for me, not a career,” Hoyt emphasizes. “I don’t have to show up to work every day; I want to show up for work every day. That’s why I’m here.”
