The CTE helps faculty members develop their teaching expertise, fosters dialogue on teaching excellence, provides faculty with support to enhance teaching and student learning, and disseminates information about pedagogical and curricular innovations. The Center for Teaching Excellence supports Loyola Marymount University's goal of academic excellence by enhancing the teaching and learning process
through a wide range of services to faculty members. These services include workshops and presentations, grants to implement, assess, and document pedagogical innovations, grants for travel related to classroom teaching and learning, support for the scholarship of teaching and learning, a resource library and website, access to expert teachers, a forum for exchange on teaching and learning experiences and strategies, and individual consultations. The CTE offers a supportive environment for professional dialogue and exchange of ideas about academic excellence, the encouragement of learning, and teaching at LMU.
