Please Credit this photographer who was able to capture this wonderful image... Occidentalis sp. Palau. I observed this 6 or 7 inch species at a distance in an interior high tannin content small brackish water lake in Palau that was entered through a cave lined with beautiful soft corals that had to be protected from any contact while snorkeling. Tannin caused the eyes to sting! Guides protected corals and divers. Grand one of a kind opportunity! Thanks to the people of Palau with such an incredible history of survival and thriving but threatened culture. My heart to you through our memory of Monty Hempel. JGD

Steelhead was used to envision the intention of the US Government when the Clean Water Act was created and a very successful legal action was launched to strengthen the portions of that law to protect Endangered Species.

Please appreciate the incredible efforts over 40 years that protect the California Trout Stamp and give this wonderful species back to itself and to those who enjoy fishing! Those people who used to fish for Steelhead in Malibu Creek included the actor, Spencer Tracy.

Thanks to Cal Trout and many other organizations and individuals who deserve credit. Some state and federal employees should loose their retirements for their complicity in blocking action and legislation to protect this species by delaying removal of the dams that have blocked access to the hatchery areas.

Geetha PN, Ph.D., a long-time friend and contributor to AnEcoScape NPO, has been invited to present at the next COP in Dubai. AnEcoScape is located adjacent to LMU in Westchester, CA, and Geetha is located in Cochin, India, on the southwest coast where she is an expert in soft corals in local islands and pollution along the rivers, bays, and estuaries of the region.
Dr. PN assisted AnEcoScape in presenting a large concept for stimulation of the biosphere of Santa Monica Bay using rock reefs at the 2018 International Ecological Association in Malaysia in 2018. She is active and a respected contributor to many organizations including Island Innovations, which is partly supported by the Clinton Foundation.
