"She was a brightness in our family," Elvia Ambriz tells PEOPLE of her sister, Maria Guadalupe "Lupe" Ambriz Davis
We are deeply saddened to announce the tragic death of one of our own. Maria Davis, wife of Greg Davis from Fire Station 25 "A" suffered a traumatic brain injury while jumping into her pool and she was not able to recover from her injuries.
After a week of fighting for her life, the family and her medical team decided it was time to let Maria go peacefully, and on Saturday, September 26th she was taken off of life support.
A Go Fund Me has been set up by the Davis family to assist with funeral expenses and to assist the family.

COVID-19 Claims Life of LAFD Firefighter
LOS ANGELES – It is with profound sadness that the Los Angeles City Fire Department (LAFD) announces the death of Firefighter III/Paramedic Jose M. Perez, who passed away at a local hospital from complications of COVID-19 on Saturday, July 25, 2020.
Firefighter/Paramedic Perez had been with the Department for 16-and-a-half years. He was 44 years old. He is survived by his wife and three children.
Fire Chief Ralph Terrazas and the entire Department send their deepest and most sincere condolences to the Perez family.

BOYLE HEIGHTS July 14, 2020 12:27am: Commercial Stucture Fire (1 of 3 this morning): Over 100 firefighters with the LAFD battled a "Greater Alarm" blaze in a commercial building in Boyle Heights. Due to roof collapse and trouble accessing the fire, the firefighters had to take a defensive mode when fighting this blaze. The fire was knocked down in just over 2 hours, and LAFD Arson is investigating as of this morning.

Always an honor to have 10th District Vice President work at the Fire Station with us. We had several vacancies throughout our battalion and Captain Lima stepped up to fill the vacancy.
BOYLE HEIGHTS - The came upon a traffic collision, which resulted in a small grass fire on the side of the freeway. While was en route, National Guard members blocked traffic, initiated patient care and extinguished the grass fire with a fire extinguisher from their vehicle. LAFD arrived to continue patient care and transport to a local hospital.

Engine 25 and Rescue 25 established a water supply, forced entry, and initiated Fire Attack. It took 86 Firefighters 27 minutes to fully extinguish fire on the first floor and mezzanine level of the commercial. E25 discovered a deceased civilian within the burnt building. The cause of the fire and the person’s death remain categorized as “under investigation”.
