Lucky was left to die on the cold streets of Ijevan after being shot.
The bullets damaged his spine, took away his ability to walk, and left him lying helpless, surrounded by pain and silence. Most would have passed by and believed his story was over before it ever truly began.
But Lucky chose to fight.
And we chose to fight beside him.
When we first saw him, his eyes were filled with fear, confusion, and exhaustion… yet somewhere deep inside, there was still hope. Despite everything humans had done to him, he still wanted to live. He still wanted love.
Day by day, we carried him, cleaned him, comforted him, and promised him that his life mattered. The road was long, filled with treatments, sleepless nights, and uncertainty, but Lucky never gave up.
On December 14, 2023, Lucky’s life changed forever.
He arrived in the United States not as a forgotten street dog, but as a soul finally given the chance he deserved. And soon after, we adopted him into a home where he would never again know hunger, fear, or abandonment.
Today, Lucky is still disabled.
The bullets remain in his spine, and he still cannot walk. Some wounds never fully heal. But disability did not take away his joy. It did not take away his spirit.
Lucky wakes up every day surrounded by love.
He enjoys soft beds, warm blankets, kisses, safety, and people who see him not for what he lost, but for the beautiful soul he is. His tail still wags. His eyes still shine. And his heart still trusts.
Lucky’s story is not about tragedy.
It is about survival.
It is about resilience.
It is about how love can reach even the most broken places and create a life worth living.
They tried to end his story on the streets of Ijevan.
Instead, Lucky became a symbol of hope. 💛
