Today, AAPI Equity Alliance gathered community leaders and members across LA to denounce the ICE raids and cruel Federal immigration actions that are tearing families apart and inflicting deep trauma on our communities.

From Little Tokyo to neighborhoods across LA, people are living in fear—scared to go to work, grocery shop, or even attend religious services. This isn't making us safer; it's creating immense pain, impacting the 1.6 million AAPI individuals who call LA County home.

Our AAPI community members are also being taken, often in ways that are "less public yet just as urgent and devastating." Many are detained during routine immigration check-ins, and these silent disappearances are intensified by severe language access barriers – with over 50 languages spoken in LA's AAPI communities, federal agents simply do not speak our languages.

We demand an immediate end to these senseless acts of aggression and call for ICE to leave LA!

If you witness any ICE activity, report it immediately to the Rapid Response hotline: 888-624-4752. In-language assistance is available.

📢 TOMORROW! ➡️ Join AAPI community leaders and partners tomorrow, Thursday, June 26 from 11AM - 12PM for a press conference at the Terasaki Budokan in solidarity against the ICE raids and military presence in LA!

When one group is targeted, none of us are truly safe. Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities are staying home, avoiding public gatherings in ethnic hubs for fear of being racially profiled and swept up in the ICE raids. The cruelty we've seen these over the weeks calls on each of us to rise and defend our neighbors at this critical moment in history. 💙

Speakers will share stories of impacted Angelenos and in-language resources for AAPI communities and LA County residents.

RSVP: https://forms.gle/TEBfUwCDmDigfgXw9
Limited onsite underground parking is available.

We took to the streets to join in defending our home from this cruel and unconstitutional threat.

For the past two weeks, ICE has terrorized LA by snatching innocent community members off the street without due process, separating families, and assaulting peaceful protestors exercising their First Amendment right.

This cannot be normalized. We must resist Trump's military takeover and invasion in our home.

Here's what you can do:
*Protect yourself and your community with Know Your Rights resources at aapiequityalliance.org/community-resource-guide

*Attend a prayer walk tomorrow, June 18 at 6pm with us and call for an end to inhumane, anti-immigrant policies. Bring flowers and register at bit.ly/prayerwalkforfamily

AAPI Equity Alliance joins our community in denouncing the cruel and inhumane immigration raids and escalating military forces terrorizing Los Angeles.

We urge all Americans and Angelenos to come together to resist this unprecedented threat to our home as we know it.

AAPI Equity Alliance is in unwavering solidarity with CHIRLA and every org defending immigrants, refugees, and working families. When you come for one of us, you come for all of us!

The attacks launched against these pillars of our community are not just political theater. They are part of a coordinated strategy to intimidate, isolate, and silence the very institutions that protect working families, immigrants, and refugees across this country.

CHIRLA represents the best of who we are.
